This term in math, the focus is on the flexibility with numbers to 10 and counting to 20. This builds on and reinforces all that we have done so far this year.
In class, we graphed, compared groups using the language "more", "less than" and "same as", counted forwards to 20 or beyond starting from different numbers, and counted backwards from 10. We can show you how to do these things at home in a playful way. Ms. Klyne will be sending you videos and lessons to teach concepts or games, both old and new. We look forward to seeing your child playing and learning in math, Please remember to send Ms. Warren all of your pictures and questions and work, so that we can put it on our website: See our work from home. Supplies are important and we want to make sure that you are able to get what you need. Please let us know if this is a problem for your family. You will need paper and dice, and a deck of cards would be helpful. As far as counting or patterning objects, be creative around your house: buttons, Cheerios, crackers, cotton balls, Lego, stones, sticks...
